Community Crafts is, and always has been, in Carmarthen. It started in 1978 in tiny premises in Jackson's Lane and in 1990 moved to larger premises in Queen Street.
Since 2001 we have been at our present address at
30 King Street. Now our shop is large enough to
allow customers to browse our
vast range of craft and hobby
materials and equipment but still small enough to ensure that everyone can
get personal attention. One of us - the partners, Ann and Carol - is
always available. With, between us, nearly half a century of experience
of materials and techniques used in craft work (whether for pleasure or
profit) we are happy to help personal shoppers with suggestions and advice
whenever we can.
Our individual customers - some of whom have been with us since we started - range from upholsterers to jewellers, from model makers to embroiderers, from spinners and weavers to potters. We serve, with the same care, both the school children tackling their first craft and technology project and the established professionals who make their livings from their crafts. We also supply organisations like schools, colleges, youth groups, hospitals, craft guilds, etc.
Although geared up to serve personal shoppers,
we will also
post things.
